Ouija board: A GAME NOT TO BE PLAYED

Do you believe in good or evil spirits? Well, I don’t. A few months back when this Covid-19 pandemic started, my roommate Ojas came to me saying “there is a way we can talk to spirits”. “Oh? Great!!” I replied sarcastically. “I know you won’t believe”. I said YES, I won’t! “Anyway let’s try this if you aren’t scared”.

“No, I am not. It’s just that it is all shit.” Then finally Ojas convinced me to play this game saying what else you will do in these quarantine days.

Before I take this story further, I should tell you about this game. Ouija board: The ouija also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a square board marked with the alphabets A- Z, the numbers 0–9, the words “yes”, “no”, “hi”, and “bye”, along with various symbols. It uses a movable indicator. Participants place their fingers on the indicator that could be a coin, and it is moved about the board to spell out the words being guided by the spirit. And participants need to chant “Good spirits please come” till you feel the presence of any spirit. The room should be completely dark with a burning candle.

For the first 45 minutes, no spirits came. And finally, when I was about to throw the board away the coin moved to the “hi” spot. I looked at Ojas and found him already looking at me. We both said I didn’t move it.

“Who are you?” I asked.
Coin moved to R>A>J>E>S>H.
“How you died?” I asked.
Coin moved to “Road accident”.
Just to cross-check if Ojas is simply moving the coin I asked “What is your phone number?”
Coin moved to a number that I remembered.
I was still not convinced. I had to ask a question about which Ojas was having no idea. So I asked, “how much I scored in 5th Standard?”
Pointer moved to “677”, which was true. I was excited and scared at the same time. After this, I and Ojas asked many questions from many spirits. After we ended the game we called that number and got to know yes Rajesh died in a road accident.

It might sound exciting to you. However, it’s a request PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME as my dear friend Ojas is now going through several treatments as he started playing this game repeatedly, all alone, and claims that he can see and talk to his mom who passed away long back. He is getting hallucinations.

I will be awaiting your feedback in the comments section. Stay safe, stay happy till I meet you all again with a new story.
